The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask Review

#Superfoods for your skin

The BodyShop recently launched 5 new 100% Vegetarian or vegan Masks. Each harnesses the power of nature to help skin look and feel fabulous, while targeting specific concerns. Today I will be reviewing their ultra-rich, hydrating mask – The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask.  Could this be the ultimate mask for dry and parched skin?  Let’s find out!

The Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is a honey-textured moisturizing mask that claims to nourish the skin and boost hydration, giving it a softer and smoother feel after each use.  Please don’t eat this mask. Yes it smells like a pot of actual honey, it has the consistency of actual honey, but don’t be fooled. Now because I’ve told you not to do it, you’re going to want to aren’t you? It’s totally what I’d do being the bold child that I am so you have been warned. This sweet treat of a mask is just pure luxury, the silky smooth formula glides on, melting into the skin- giving the ultimate nourishing experience. This mask is ideal for skin that needs an intense dose of replenishing moisture to feel softer and smoother.

Key ingredients:

  • Community Trade Honey from Ethiopia
  • Community Trade Marula Oil from Namibia
  • Community Trade Olive Oil from Italy

How to Use it

To use The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey face mask, apply on freshly cleaned skin using either a brush or your fingers.  Smooth an even layer of the mask onto the face, as well as the neck and décolletage if desired.  Leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes, then use warm water and a muslin cloth (or regular washcloth) to remove the mask, working in gentle circles.  Use 2 to 3 times a week for best results.

My Experience

Formula

As I said earlier it has a consistency of honey which is more like gel hence its easier to spread than honey. It has a sweet smelling scent which isn’t overpowering but rather pleasant, and as it melts in your skin the fragrance relaxes you immediately.

Application

It has a very sticky texture so Ill suggest you grab a brush and spread it evenly over your skin, apply a thin layer as thats all you need for this mask to work. Once applied it warms up slightly and fills your senses with a sweet honey fragrance, it might tingle a bit on acne spots but ever so slightly and after all you need to know its working. It doesn’t absorb in you skin, as a matter of fact its consistency and stickiness remains the same, so if you are like me and like to sleep in your masks I’d say avoid the mess rather let it sit for longer if you feel like.

Results

On The BodyShop website they ask you to apply the mask two or three times to see visble results but to my surprise I saw the results from the very first use. On first application itself my skin felt and looked calmer, pores on my cheeks were visible shrunk my acne spots seemed to have calmed down and were diminished next morning, not just that my skin felt great through out the next day, my Tzone was less oily and my skin was much more brighter and awake.

I have never been so happily surprised by a mask before, I have used it over this entire week thrice and it has continued to make things better for my skin.

  • My skin is much clamer
  • brighter
  • minimized pores
  • Texture of my skin has improved
  • dark spots are less visible as my skin is much nourished
  • Less oily but not dry
  • plump and radiant

Final Thoughts

If you suffer with dry, patchy skin with texture issues this mask is a must buy for you cant stress enough about how amazing this product is.
